After watching the first test match between India and Australia I couldn't stop repeatedly asking this question. Three four years ago when twenty20 cricket started we all thought twenty20 cricket would put the final nail of the coffin of the test cricket. Everybody was talking about this exciting new format and none bothered about the good old lazy style of cricket (except hard core test cricket fans). But after few years of cricket we all bored with over kill twenty20 cricket. And almost all twenty20 tournament are too commercialized we don't really feel that we are watching a game. Most games are, some cricket between advertisements. The common cricket lovers feel that this is for businessmen and few twenty20 specialists not for the masses.
The last test match between India and Australia was the silver line in the dark cloud. It proved that test cricket can still produce excitement while delivering quality cricket. And today is the forth day of the second test match between the same team and it looks like heading to the same kind of exciting finish. But one notable thing here is the way the pitch reacts. If you want to have good cricket you have to produce good wickets that support both batsmen and bowlers not the dead pitches like we saw in India Sri Lanka test series.
