Test Championship, Shorter World Cup, Pros & Cons of The Changes

ICC's chief executive committee recently took some policy decisions that can make many genuine cricket lovers happy. The most important proposal out of all of them is, proposed 'Test Championship'. They have proposed a league that runs for 4 years period withing FTP (Future Tour Program) and they play off between top four teams after every 4 year period. That's a very good move. It's not only brings much needed attention to the traditional format of the game, but also solve the problem of unbalanced FTP in many countries. In last few years, we have seen there were too much cricket for some countries while some other countries were empty handed. And also some countries played with each other too much (India v Sri Lanka ?), even spectators lost their interest. So this proposal will bring some positive changes though it might not solve all the problems.
And also they have proposed a new ODI league that mirrors the existing team ranking. It's totally separated from the world cup and world cup will be held in every three years as usual. And also they have proposed to reduce number of teams and matches in the world cup. You might welcome this move if you remember the painfully long world cup in West Indies. And also proposed to increase the number of teams in next twenty20 world cup to 16, as emerging cricketing nations have more interest and success in this format. Overall all these proposals looks good and most of them were requested for long time by the players and the spectators.
But some already started crying foul and they have a point to make. Specially the proposal to reduce teams in 50 over world cup is criticized by the associated member countries as it's effectively cut their chances to be in thir world cup.  Cricket boards of  Kenya, Canada and Ireland are leading the criticism and they argue that it will make anyone other than ten full member countries to make in to the world cup. Australian Cricketers' Association saying that too many test can cause player over burn. While welcoming the move for test championship, they questioned it's possibility withing already packed schedule.
For me these proposals are one of the best decisions they took in recent history of ICC and hope they will implement them soon while considering the possible changes that can minimize the criticism against them.
